Bird watching and wildlife spotting. Includes nearby coastline, and islands.
Explore the nearby coastline and islands departing from the Mourilyan Harbour boat ramp. Search for wildlife within the harbour and Moresby River, discovering a variety of waterbirds and coastal species among the mangroves. Depending on weather conditions, journey north towards Flying Fish Point, where graceful Sea Eagles often soar among the hills, and the chance to spot turtles, manta rays, dolphins, and Humpback whales exists between July and August. Alternatively, venture south towards Double Point, pausing to observe wildlife amid the hills, rocky outcrops, and small islands along the way.

The Cassowary Coast is a local government area in the Far North Queensland region of Australia, south of Cairns and centered on the towns of Innisfail, Cardwell, and Tully. The region is named after the elusive, endangered, feathered, and flightless bird, the cassowary, which is found in the tropical underskirts of Queensland’s highest mountains or rummaging beachside.
